They investigate the elements of art including composition and space and use this to influence their practical work. Students learn to analyse and discuss artworks through researching contemporary and historical artists, learning to articulate their ideas and reflect on their creative processes. Through hands-on activities, developing resolved works and critical analysis, students build visual literacy and begin to understand how artists communicate meaning. ASSESSMENT: Students demonstrate their learning through assessment of practical skills and production, research tasks and reflection.
