These experiences help develop knowledge and skills in health, safety, wellbeing, and movement. Students refine specialised movement skills across a range of game types, including target, invasion, net/wall, and striking/fielding games. They examine how body control and coordination affect performance and apply movement concepts across different settings. A highlight of the course is the Sports Education unit, where students take on different roles to collaboratively organise and participate in a structured sports competition, building leadership, communication, and teamwork. ASSESSMENT: Students demonstrate their learning through practical assessments and theory tasks. In History, they study early human migration and First Nations histories and cultures, as well as one ancient civilisation such as Greece, Rome, Egypt, India, or China. In Civics and Citizenship, students learn about democracy, laws, and how migration has shaped modern Australia. They study topics such as school, food, and self, while learning pronunciation, sentence structure, and grammar including articles, gender, and agreement.
