They critically evaluate online information, communicate effectively using digital media, and apply practical skills such as using collaborative cloud-based tools, managing data, and maintaining digital security. Students also develop an understanding and skills in computational thinking. They plan and create a range of digital solutions such as PowerPoint animation, build virtual reality simulations using basic code and/or create websites. Each unit aims to develop skills and allow students to explore their digital citizenship in this ever- changing technological world. ASSESSMENT: Students demonstrate their learning by completing practical activities and folio work. DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES DRAMA LEARNING AREA: The Arts LENGTH: Term SELECTION: Compulsory LEARNING SUMMARY: Students explore drama as an art form by creating and responding to performances. They build their understanding of role, character, and relationships while learning the key elements of drama. Through practical activities, students develop basic acting skills and stagecraft skills. The course encourages participation, creativity, confidence and communication skills. This course supports personal growth while building knowledge, performance skills, and an appreciation for collaborative storytelling through drama. ASSESSMENT: Students demonstrate their learning through performance, reflection, and research tasks. ENGLISH LEARNING AREA: Technologies LENGTH: Semester SELECTION: Compulsory LEARNING SUMMARY: Students develop their skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and creating through a wide range of texts and learning experiences. Students learn the ways that context, purpose, and audience shape meaning in different types of texts, including literary, historical, media and digital texts, exploring real and imagined relationships and diverse perspectives. They create imaginative, informative, persuasive and multimodal texts, exploring a range of textual conventions and language techniques. Some English tasks may link with other subjects through integrated units. ASSESSMENT: Students demonstrate their learning by creating and responding to a variety of text types. These may include creative writing, poetry, essays, oral presentations or debates, short films, multimodal presentations, picture books, group tasks, and/or creative use of digital tools.
